Popular messaging platform WhatsApp is introducing an animated emoji feature to make chats more lively
WhatsApp, the world’s most widely used messaging platform, recently introduced new features to increase user security. Following these features, the company continues to work on various innovations. Most recently, WhatsApp will offer animated emoji options, an indispensable part of the application.
WhatsApp’s animated emoji feature will be default
The messaging platform WhatsApp is introducing various features to enhance the user experience. One of these features surfaced today. The company is introducing an animated emoji innovation to make chats more fun and lively.
This innovation from WhatsApp was revealed by users on WABetaInfo. News of this innovation has been circulating for a long time. However, the company was quite late in integrating the feature into the platform. The leaked screenshots show that animated emojis are coming soon.
According to the information, animated emojis will be available by default for selected emojis. This means you won’t be able to disable animated emojis even if you don’t want to use them. The emojis will come from the Lottie library, a popular animation platform used by many applications.
The animated emoji feature has been in use on WhatsApp’s competitor, Telegram, for quite some time. In addition, it is also available on Facebook Messenger, another messaging platform owned by parent company Meta. The fact that it’s only coming to WhatsApp now is quite surprising.
There is no information on when the animated emoji feature will be available for use. It is currently not in the Beta versions of the platform, which is in the development stage. Nevertheless, it is believed that the animated emoji feature will be released in a beta version for the desktop version.
